ScrewTurn Wiki - Supported file formats

At present, Groupsort only supports tab-delimited and comma-separated text file formats for input data. Of these, we recommend the use of the tab-delimited format as the comma-separated format can cause problems where there are commas in the data (for example, in addresses). The required layout is that the first row of the file should contain column headings, such as 'Name', 'Age', 'Gender' etc. and each subsequent row should contain the details of one person as shown in the screenshot.

. There should be no blank rows and all of the details should be filled in as far as possible. Note that because the sorting is performed by by an automated process, great care should be taken with the typing of information. Where two individuals share the the same information, the entry must be absolutely identical (for example, an age band of '20 - 25' is not the same as '20- 25' because of the missing space in the latter).

To create the tab-delimited format from most spreadsheet programmes, there will either be an option to 'Save As' a tab-delimited text file, or to 'Export' to a tab-delimited text file. For example, from Microsoft Excel, choose 'Save As' from the 'File' menu, and select 'Text (tab-delimited)(*.txt)' as the 'Save as type'. From Google Docs, create a spreadsheet as above, then select 'Export' from the 'File' menu and select '.txt SheetOnly' as the format.

cannot upload a list
To Whom It May Concern, I have followed all given instructions carefully, but nothing I have tried has produced anything but an error message that says "There was a problem processing the file - please check the contents and try again (Index was outside the bounds of the array.)". I attempted an Excel file as well as an RTF file to no avail. Surely there must be a simpler way to create lists. What else can I try? Sincerely, Tim Trotter
